Organic Dog Shampoo Formulation From Techtron

We’ve developed a new range of own brand organic dog shampoo for a major national distributor of pet grooming products. These will be certified as organic by the Soil Association and allow the customer to use the on-pack symbol.

The pet range consists of shampoos, conditioners and colognes, with multiple fragrance varieties available to develop.

The customer gave us a brief identifying the products which required organic certification. Our chemists sourced and identified raw materials that were organic (confirmed in writing with suppliers or with certification where required). They then completed all developing work within the timescale of the brief.

After successful formulation and sampling by the customer, all certification and raw material declarations were provided. This left our customer with all the evidence required to submit their application to the Soil Association.  All product development had to be analysed by the Soil Association to certify the final product. The application was successful and the organic dog shampoo was awarded final product certification. This allows the customer to use the Soil Association symbol on their packaging.

Although not done on this occasion, our team can liaise directly with accreditation bodies on our customers’ behalf.

Soil Assosiation Certification

“Our team are experts and were able to conduct all questioning with suppliers, gather certification for raw materials and stability testing within the agreed timescale set for future production.

This is due to the growing preference for environmentally friendly products that contain plant derived surfactants, sourced responsibly.  More and more pet brands are replicating this with the requirement for organic products.”
